One of our clients, Hollow Clothing celebrated their second anniversary yesterday. We’ve been working with Hollow since day one, even though they’ve been going two years – they really turned it up just under a year ago and haven’t looked back since. Now with 2,200 followers on their Twitter account and sold in 15 different countries, they’re starting kick a little ass.
Yesterday to celebrate the occasion, they held a contest on Twitter, release a limited edition poster and a new limited edition t-shirt;
Also, yesterday marked the day where the offering of FREE DELIVERY WORLDWIDE ended. Free Delivery was offered worldwide by the Hollow boys since last summer, originally it was supposed to last just a month… However, shipping costs haven’t increased that much in all fairness, so there’s no biggy. Leading into the event, IAMTHETREND (top independent clothing website) covered Hollow in a non-official way, check out the article – http://iamthetrend.com/2011/07/26/hollow-clothing-news/
Suplex Media has now hit a 1000 followers on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/SuplexMedia). We started out Twitter account a year or so ago but never really did much with it. Within the last two to three months we’ve upped our game and hard work is paying off. If you follow us on Twitter, a HUGE thank you to you BUT if you don’t, no worries but you should… More on our ‘Social Media Movement’ on Monday (1/8/11).
Clarence Clemons sadly passed away yesterday (Sat. 18th June). On the 12th June he suffered a stroke which was followed by two brain surgeries. One of the best saxophone players of all time, no doubt and Bruce & The E Street Band will continue to be awesome, it won’t be the same with the ‘Big Man’.
“Bruce Springsteen said of Clarence: Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage. His loss is immeasurable and we are honored and thankful to have known him and had the opportunity to stand beside him for nearly forty years. He was my great friend, my partner, and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life, his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band.”
One of his greatets solo’s is during the epic song from the ‘Born To Run’ album ‘Jungleland’, enjoy;
So the Miami Heat knocked the Celtics out of the NBA playoffs. When I was a kid I was majorly into basketball, but during high school it kind of slipped away. In recent years, it’s slowly but surely crept back in thanks to my best buddy Kristian Chambers. I’m enjoying watching the rest of the playoff games as we close in on the season. Doc Rivers has signed a 5-year extension with Boston and Shaq looking to be on his way out, what’s going to happen next season!? I honestly can’t wait.
One of my favourite moments of this years Celtics campaign was Boston Number #20 Ray Allen breaking Reggie Miller’s all-time record for 3-pointers, scoring an astonishing 2,612 3-point baskets. The next contender is Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks with 1,795. Here are two photos from this momentous occasion;
We’ve doing work for Chicago based rapper ‘Kidd Russell’ for nearly two years and it’s been a blast. He sent us a photo and said I want something on this picture to promote the new video we’re shooting out here in LA. So here it is and his VLOG from LA:
We’ll be building his new website in the coming weeks!
I first had contact with Larry Sweeney when I interviewed for my pro-wrestling magazine The Suplex in late 2006, then the following year I got chance to meet him when I got him booked at 1PW at their second year anniversary show. Then the next time I would see him would be the following May in ’08 when he and ROH president Cary Silkin flew all the way over to the UK to hang out in London and see Jethro Tull in concert. A few weeks later we hung out for a week straight when I visited the east coast and did loads of cool stuff and stayed in constant contact after that. Every dealing or every time we hung out, he was a blast. Always had some interesting or funny to say without fail. His love for pro-wrestling was undeniable. I strongly believe he was the best manager in the world during his ROH run and was definitely (without doubt) the second coming of the great Bobby Heenan, he knew how to come across like a star.
A tribute will be in the next issue of The Suplex. RIP My friend, 12 Large Brother – Ain’t no doubt about it!
So the first of my closest friends/non-family to have a baby, it was my best friend and wife too – it’s pretty surreal. Kacy John Chambers was born 7th April 2011 at 9lbs 6oz. He’s pretty cool…
Tomorrow is a day I look forward to every single year without fail, WrestleMania. This year marks the 27th edition of the biggest event in professional wrestling’s year. I could write thousands upon thousands of words about tomorrows event and the whole spectacle of its existence, but maybe another time. Below is the official promo video for the worldwide PPV and below that, is an interview done by members of the media (including Suplex Media’s newest client Between The Ropes/Brian Fritz) with pro-wrestler turned Hollywood actor ‘The Rock’ Dwayne Johnson:
This will mark our last work produced for ‘ROH Wrestling’ that will appear on US National TV channel ‘HDNet’ as their TV contract has not been renewed. I’ve been t several ROH TV tapings for ‘HDNet’ and all their staff were very pleasant and polite, kudos to them for helping produce a great weekly TV show.
