So, the title to this blog is a bit over the top but’s it’s true.
California Gurls by Katy Perry
At the moment in my life a lot of things are changing rapidly and I’m just about keeping up with the pace. For example, one of my closest friends Dan Bill (who I run Hollow Clothing with) is currently residing in Portugal for the next 7 weeks at a surfing camp. My best friend and his wife are expecting their first child (first of any of my close friends having a baby), I can’t wait – it’s going to be awesome.
I’ve always loved to be creative and I have been since I can remember. Sometimes you get stuck, you have a creative block so to speak. Sometimes you need your life to be changing at a faster rate to either get you out of that creative rut or for me, have your eyes opened even further to more creative possibilities. Heck, it may benefit you to change your life in order for this to happen -who knows
I hail you for being creative in whatever you do!
Embedded in this blog are two of my favourite music videos for be real creative~!
Once In A Lifetime by Talking Heads
(I wasn’t even thought of when this was released, but I saw it on VH1 several years ago and loved it – released in 1981)
Last September I designed an advert for ROH that appeared in the infamous New York Post. For me this was awesome, that an advert I designed was appearing in prestigious tabloid. Yes, below the advert I designed, several phone sex advertisements were placed.
We recently created the logo for Ring Of Honor’s (ROH) next internet Pay-Per-View on February 26th live from Chicago, IL. This past week it made it’s way on to their weekly prime time TV show which airs on HDNET in the United States and Canada and is owned by the chairman of the Dallas Mavericks plus many other businesses, Mark Cuban.
We’ve re-designed the Hollow website a few times since their inception in 2009, but with the clothing line changing their approach and what not, this new website is the best one we’ve produced. Check out their site and t-shirts… They are above great value for money and they offer FREE DELIVERY/SHIPPING worldwide –
One of our latest clients are from Lake Bluff, IL which is just over an hour away (with traffic) from downtown Chicago, IL. Noodle Bar is owned by Richard Bentsen, this guy is real passionate about business and life, it was great dealing with him. Also, they do more than noodles they hold classes about the internet and host live music throughout the week on certain nights. Check the site out at http://www.noodlebarlakebluff.com/
I went to Puerto Rico after ROH’s final show of the year, Final Battle for four or five days. This island is so cool and laid back, it suited me down to a treat. The photos below are from the day I spent exploring Old San Juan, I hope you enjoy and I long for the day I return!
Majority of the streets in Old San Juan were covered in these beautiful blue cobbles.
The cigar business in Puerto Rico is everywhere…
This part of town is a rough neighbourhood, very well known for drugs and crime. You could see people doing deals in the street and people simply up to no good.
The photo above is my favourite shot of my entire trip.
This is the first Christmas I’ve spent away from home. I’ve been in the United States since the 30th November. Today and tomorrow (especially…) will be a little strange. It’s been odd without hearing Bruce Springsteen’s rendition of ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’ played on every radio station possible in the UK and I haven’t watched the awesome movie that is ‘Home Alone’ for that Christmas feel. Above is Springsteen performing that particular song live from London a few years back and below is the official trailer from ‘Home Alone’. Merry Christmas from Suplex Media!
Check out my clothing companies ‘Picturereel’ for it’s latest t-shirt ‘SATISFACTION’. I run ‘Hollow Clothing’ with two of my closest set of friends, George and Bill. We originally started in 2009, took a 6 month hiatus from it and have been working solidly on it since June 2010. We also offer FREE DELIVERY/SHIPPING WORLDWIDE!!
Unlike a lot of things, Vegas actually lived up to the hype and then gave more. Wow, this place is off the hook. I headed out west after the ROH HDNet TV tapings in Louisville, KY to Las Vegas, NV for something like 36 hours. I hardly slept, walked up and down the street taking it all in. On my way back to the my room at Harrah’s casino, I had these two hookers follow me, I was so paranoid that they had a knife on them or something. However, I long for the day to go back there.
Colt Cabana is simply an entertainer. Using professional wrestling and becoming a stand-up comedian to vent his entertaining qualities. Now he’s using the internet to just that with his latest venture ‘Art of Wrestling’ podcast. Every Thursday a brand spanking new interview is posted on the site (http://www.welovecolt.com) with somebody from the wacky world of pro-wrestling.
We’re currently in the midst of a internet revolution and getting your message out there is easier than it’s ever been. As Colt has alluded to in the past on his podcast. there’s a lot of wrestling shows out there that are so terrible and un-professional it doesn’t help the podcast/online radio show ‘reputation’ but this show is the complete opposite.
When I first met Cabana back in 2004, he was staying in the United Kingdom for like three or four months – he came over to learn about the British style and way of wrestling. He seems a guy that wants to learn about stuff and get it right, he’s now doing the same with presenting and producing this podcast. His latest episode was with former WWE manager Armondo Estrada. He’s conducted interviews with the likes of Tyler Black, Christopher Daniels, and WWE’s CM Punk.
Colt is apearing for Ring of Honor (ROH) for the HDNET TV tapings on the 9th and 10 December and then the following weekend on the 17th in Plymouth, MA and 18th December in New York City live in iPPV. More info at http://www.rohwrestling.com
